LET IT GO
LET IT GO! I am sure many of you have heard this plenty of times. Elsa rings a bell? IYKYK. In essence to let go of whatever it is that is bothering you. Or whoever is getting under your skin. Or something that keeps you on edge. It doesn't matter what it is... just let it go! Yes, it may seem easier said than done. But you know once you release whatever it is, you will feel so much better. At first, it will be uncomfortable but then it will be like a breath of fresh air. It's never easy to do anything that we are not used to. It really has to do with putting the ego and your overthinking aside. They always want to be at the forefront of everything. The ego is there to protect, serve, and recognize patterns. It tries to protect us from harm because it senses danger or if something is off. It serves us with being on guard and letting us know of any caution. And it recognizes patterns of any situation, issues or traumas we have endured in our lives. So, the ego isn't all bad per say but it's important to know when we should listen to it. The overthinking part of our brain could stem from insecurities, low self-esteem, or any number of things. We all likely have a touch of overthinking, and that's another area that needs to be worked on. There is no clear solution that can be solved overnight. Having these traits likely took a lifetime of compiling them. To release them, it takes self-awareness and doing the work to clear them out. None of this letting it go is a walk in the park. It took me years to finally come to terms with it. Once I did, there was no going back to how things were. It was such a relief! I mean I did not concern myself with things I had no control over. You see that part was the hardest because I wanted it my way. When I realized that I could not change anyone or anything... life became much easier. I looked at everything through different lenses. It truly freed me from the prison I put myself into. There were no more shackles and bondage of self. That self was my mind talking to me in ways that were misleading. You know that your mind is a chatterbox, right? It wants to keep you up late at night questioning everything! However, you can turn that monkey mind right off. You don't need to listen to all it says. Just take deep breaths and reset your nervous system. It really is not hard to do once you get the hang of it. Some people meditate, do the self-reflection, and even go out in nature. It takes whatever works for you and experimenting with different ideas is important. I find going out on walks around trees, and anything nature related does wonders. The whole point is finding that balance and getting yourself regulated. Once you have that down, you will find your life easier to navigate. It's not a miracle cure, but it does benefit greatly. All of this takes time and lots of patience. I still at times want the upper hand with what life throws at me. However, in the long run I find letting go and letting the universe guide has been life changing. Even when it seems life is unfair and moving erratically. Always remember that you can only control what's inside your circle. Imagine an invisible circle around your body. Anything outside of that circle is left to chance. That means you let go and just walk away knowing it's not yours to grasp or question. Now that's truly letting go.
